Everything you need to know about Neopixel Saber TechnologyUpdated 2 months ago

Getting a custom saber based on the galactic adventures of Luke, Leia, and the rest of the fan-favorite characters we all love is easier than ever. A simple Google search will bring you all kinds of incredible saber action for dueling, cosplaying, and collecting.

That is why our artisan saber crafters at SabersPro want to go the extra mile. Not only do we offer exciting and immersive neopixel features, but we have also created different versions of lighting to ensure you get the precise experience you want every time you lock blades with a fellow Force-wielding expert.

So let’s get into the different variations of neopixel tech we offer and how it can elevate your saber activities.

What is Neopixel Technology?

Just a quick review. Baselit sabers use standard lighting inside the hilt of a blade that is projected into the length of the edge. It offers plenty of color variation and is an all-around good experience.

Neopixel technology creates a far more immersive wielding experience. This is LED lighting that runs up and down the blade and can be customized with various effects based on your movement. When you combine that with a decent soundboard, you dive deeply into the science fiction fantasy world that is a feast for your eyes and ears.

What Types of Neopixel Sabers are Available?

We offer a range of exciting and fun saber cores embedded with neopixel technology. Each one has different features that accentuate the overall theming of the blade we have constructed. For example, the Xenopixel V2 Core is an excellent option for double-ended sabers like Darth Maul or the Proffie 2.2 Core option that is common in our Master Collection. Let’s Talk Features

As you can see, there are a lot of thrilling features that each type of neopixel base offers for your cosplay or dueling experience. You want to select a base option that best fits your use with your custom saber. Some of the features include:

  • Customization – this allows you to add sounds, lighting, and other customized features to the motions and saber play you engage in.
  • Blade Colors – we offer sabers with built-in colors that include Red, Blue, Yellow, Cyan, Ice Blue, Green, Pink, Orange, purple, Pink-Green, Rose, and White. When you see the plus sign next to this feature, you can add additional colors if you want.
  • Installed Soundfonts – most of the time, this will be features like saber clashing, ignition, blaster deflection, and motion noises, but we also offer pre-installed quotes, movie sounds, and iconic music like Kylo’s theme, Darth Vader’s march, and even sounds for Tulak Hord!
  • Lighting Effects – even when you are standing still, you want your saber to appear like the focus of power it is. Our lighting effects include stable, unstable, pulse, wave, ghost, cross, infinite, rainbow, fire, and more.
  • Ignition Effects – there is nothing more iconic than starting your saber as you walk into a room and drawing the attention of everyone nearby.
  • Motion Control – your saber will react to the movements from your dueling styles, presentations, and cosplay reenactments by using a combination of all features to create a more immersive show.
  • And many more!

Neopixel Technology FAQ

At SabersPro, we always to be sure you are getting the best possible experience with our custom sabers. That is why we’ve gathered some of the more commonly asked questions about neopixel technology. If you have a question about neopixel or anything else related to our fantastic line of finely crafted sabers, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

Can I use neopixel technology for dueling?

Yes! Our hilts are designed from T3 Aircraft Aluminum with polycarbonate blades to ensure a durable saber experience. We do suggest going with a baselit option for dueling if you are going to go “all in” on a match, but the neopixel LEDs will last well in a basic demonstration.

Can I add custom lighting and sound effects?

Adding different customizations will depend on the neopixel core you select. Each of our sabers has various cores available depending on the construction of the hilt.

What is “flash-on-clash?”

This refers to when your saber hits or makes contact with another object or wields a saber. We add that characteristic saber flash you would see in the movies.

How long will the neopixel battery last?

Most neopixel tech you find online is built with a 1,200 mAh battery. We use a 3000mAh or 3600mAh battery for our sabers, offering you way more extended play and presentation. The exact duration will depend on your use frequency and the types of effects you emphasize the most.

What are some of the standard blade lighting effects you offer?

We provide a wide range of effects, including color change, blaster deflection, saber lock-up effect, flash-on-clash, stab, tip melt, rainbow, blade spin, neural light, and stable and unstable colors.
